Available Scholarships
Scholarships are an essential support mechanism for academic advancement. Many of Florida’s Regional Manufacturers Associations (RMA’s) - SAMA (Sarasota/Manatee Area Manufacturers Association), BAMA (Bay Area Manufacturers Association), MRMA (Marion Regional Manufacturers Association), FMCC (The Florida Minerals & Chemistry Council), FCMA (First Coast Manufacturers Association), and SFMA (South Florida Manufacturers Association) - recognize the existing potential, and are doing their part in augmenting the skill-set of deserving students and employees through scholarships/fellowships.
Scholarships range from $500 to $2,000 and are either merit or need based. The awards cover books, tuition, and housing expenses. To qualify, recipients are expected to reside in the region of the RMA, maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher. Applicants must also be currently enrolled/must have applied to a college/university in Florida. High School transcripts, faculty recommendations, and approval from the principal/headmaster/current employer need to accompany each application.
In addition to RMA partners, most community colleges also offer a variety of scholarships. Not all are for high academic achievers. They vary depending on a particular area of study, nationality, and various other criteria. HCC, for example, has a separate scholarship for manufacturing students.
